ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, is committed to enhancing women's economic opportunities in rural communities. The Company along with the Adani Foundation has supported Bhagat Devi from the Radhe self-help group (SHG) to open a Dhaba in Panari village near ACC Salai Banwa.

This initiative, facilitated by ACC and the Adani Foundation’s community outreach programmes, has provided Bhagat with a loan of Rs. 50,000, enabling her to offer affordable, homemade food to labourers and staff near the plant. The Dhaba has quickly become a place of comfort and reassurance for the workers, who have been praising the healthy, home-cooked meals offered.

Despite the positive reception, Bhagat faced numerous challenges, from managing the business to ensuring consistent quality, all while juggling family responsibilities. Her passion and commitment have driven her forward, and she has promised to repay the loan in six months, using the profits to further enhance her Dhaba. Bhagat also dreams of expanding her venture to include a vegetable and fruit shop, aiming to earn Rs. 10,000 a month, significantly improving her family’s financial situation.

ACC is committed to empowering rural communities by facilitating sustainable livelihoods. Through such projects, the Company highlights the potential of collective effort and women’s empowerment in transforming lives and fostering economic growth.
