UBS Athletics Kids Cup India – Season two is here!

This time with a presence across more cities

We are ready to move the kids again – UBS Athletics Kids Cup is back with the second season, to energize schools beyond Mumbai now expanding its footprint in Pune and Hyderabad.

In the first season itself we saw over 1,000 schools register and successfully engaged around 100,000 children in fun, inclusive and meaningful physical activity. This overwhelming response highlights the growing enthusiasm for athletics among India’s youth and the importance of sport in schools.

The UBS Athletics Kids Cup, a grassroots athletics initiative supported by UBS, is designed to encourage physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship among children. With the addition of Pune and Hyderabad, season two is set to be bigger, more dynamic, and more inclusive than before.

“We are incredibly proud to see the UBS Athletics Kids Cup grow in India,” said Daniel Schenker, CEO of Dspowerparts, organiser of the UBS Athletics Kids Cup. “By extending the program to new cities, we aim to nurture a love for sports in children and inspire the next generation of athletes.”

Inspiring the Next Generation: Neeraj Chopra backs the Movement

Neeraj Chopra, Olympic gold medalist and UBS Athletics Kids Cup ambassador, shares his excitement about the program by saying:

“It’s amazing to see so many kids in India discovering athletics in such a fun and accessible way. The UBS Athletics Kids Cup is a fantastic platform to inspire the next generation – not just to become athletes, but to enjoy being active and confident in themselves.”

UBS enabling change that matters

UBS Athletics Kids Cup is a key initiative among UBS’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the development and success of India’s young generation.

“We want to back India’s youth with opportunities for holistic development, not just in the classroom but in every aspect of their growth and wellbeing. I’m so happy and proud of the resounding success of season 1 and looking forward to an even bigger and more impactful season 2,” said Matthias Schacke, Head India Service Company at UBS.
