A dedicated Sports Orthopaedic Clinic will be inaugurated at KIMS Hospitals, Seethammadhara, to provide specialized medical care and treatment for sports-related injuries, according to Dr. Srinivas Gollangi, Consultant Sports Orthopaedic Surgeon and Arthroscopic Specialist. Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Sri Shankha Brata Bagchi will formally inaugurate the new facility.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Dr. Gollangi said that the city has witnessed a significant surge in interest towards sports and fitness activities in recent times. “Apart from conventional sports, both youth and middle-aged individuals are actively participating in box cricket, badminton, and gym workouts. Consequently, there has been a notable rise in injuries related to the knees, shoulders, muscles, and ligaments,” he pointed out.
To meet this growing need, the specialized clinic will provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services under one roof. The facility will combine modern medical technology, expert consultations, physiotherapy, and recovery protocols.
Hospital representatives added that while KIMS Hospitals, Seethammadhara, already offers several multi-specialty healthcare services, the addition of the sports orthopaedic clinic will further enhance medical support for athletes and fitness enthusiasts in the region.
