500 hygiene kits and 230 baby food kits distributed across Sivasagar district
VFS Global, the global leader in trusted technology services, empowering secure mobility for governments and citizens, has partnered withDonatekart Foundation to support vulnerable communities in Sivasagar district. Through this initiative, 500 hygiene kits and 230 baby food kits were distributed, helping 2,230 vulnerable individuals address their immediate hygiene, sanitation and nutritional needs.
The initiative was implemented following needs assessments conducted in consultation with local communities and district authorities. The support was directed towards families whose lives and livelihoods were severely disrupted by the floods, particularly those dependent on daily wage labour and agriculture.
Yummi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global, said,“The floods in Assam have had a significant impact on families and communities, disrupting lives and livelihoods. At VFS Global, we believe in standing with communities in times of need. Through our partnership with Donatekart Foundation, we hope this support helps affected families address some of their immediate hygiene and nutritional needs as they work towards recovery.”
Sarang Bobade, CEO & Founder, Donatekart Foundation, said “When floods hit, women and children are the first to lose the most and the last to be heard. I spent 30 days on the ground in Assam this year, in those first days, what mothers asked us for were not big things. They needed hygiene essentials and food for their babies. That was the most urgent need we saw, and it is exactly what VFSGlobal’s contribution has made possible. We are grateful to VFS Global for standing with Donatekart and our mission of reaching disaster-hit communities anywhere in India within hours.”
As part of its commitment to strengthening communities, VFS Global has positively impacted over 12,000 individuals across India through more than 40 initiatives in 2026, addressing a range of social and humanitarian needs. In partnership with Donatekart Foundation, VFS Global has continued to respond to the needs of vulnerable groups across the country. Past interventions have included providing ration kits to 684 individuals affected by flooding in Konapapeta and Mulapeta, Andhra Pradesh, as well as distributing warm clothing and blankets to 366 individuals facing harsh winter conditions across multiple locations.
